About

FYC - Volver al mañana

Best tropical album

Volver al Mañana is a genuine communion of claves; an album where the diverse ways of feeling and understanding the clave within Afro-Caribbean and Latin music are integrated and celebrated. The production represents a fundamental milestone for contemporary salsa by achieving the historic feat of reuniting the original members of Seis del Solar, the emblematic group that accompanied legend Rubén Blades during one of his most defining eras.

The album intertwines the mastery and legacy of major global figures: Giraldo Piloto, one of the most important architects of modern timba; maestro Ed Calle, the most-recorded Latin saxophonist in the United States; and Alexis Pututi, alongside renowned musicians from Peru, Cuba, Mexico, Nigeria, Venezuela, the United States, Chile, and Italy.

Under the musical production, direction and arrangemts of Luchito Muñoz, the impeccable sound engineering of Dennis Shapiama, and the executive production of Puerto Rican  Songwriter Jim Donato—who is also the writer of 5 of the tracks—this album consolidates an international vanguard proposal that pushes the boundaries of the genre toward new sonic horizons.
